How fuel cost is calculated
For L/100km mode: fuel needed = distance ÷ 100 × L/100km. For MPG mode: fuel needed = distance ÷ MPG. The total cost is fuel × price per unit.
fuel = (distance / 100) × L_per_100km | fuel = distance / MPG
cost = fuel × price

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between L/100km and MPG? L/100km measures liters of fuel per 100 km (lower is better). MPG measures miles per gallon (higher is better).

What if my efficiency is 0? The calculator will warn you, since fuel needed would be undefined.
